Resident Public Safety
Public Safety is a high concern for resident leadership in public housing. See how resident leaders have utilized technology in an innovative manner to address this issue.
Virtual Tenant Patrol
John Johnson, President of the Mott Haven Resident Association, believes that residents must take control of their own safety and quality-of-life in the places where they live. One of the central ways that he has been able to accomplish this is by the creation of the Virtual Tenant Patrol (VTP) service.
The VTP service enables Resident Association Tenant Patrols, as well as residents themselves, to view their building lobbies, front doors, playgrounds and other common areas remotely, out of harm's way. As Mr. Johnson says, "We Are Watching Us".
The VTP service is completely controlled by Residents, and thanks to the vision of John Johnson, has been expanded to many other developments.
